My research team has carried out broad bed research by assembling information from over 3,100 mattress owners.

According to our research, Serta innerspring beds score below Sealy, Simmons and Kingsdown when it comes to comfort. Serta does, however, score better than Spring Air.

Roughly 51 percent of more than 100 Serta owners included in our research indicate that their bed is comfortable.

Compared to non-innerspring beds (air, memory foam, water and latex), Serta scored lower than these types as did almost all innerspring mattress brands, according to our data. Specifically, about 85 percent of non-innerspring mattress types and brands said that their mattress is comfortable.

Matress reviews: Serta mattresses Sagging

The chief reason that Serta does not score better has to do with sagging of the mattress. Serta owners often said that their bed loses its support and develops sink areas, often in less than three years. Turning the mattress on a regular basis typically did not seem to help, according to owners.

It should be noted that Serta is not the only innerspring mattress brand to have sagging issues. All of the innerspring mattresses in our research had significant premature sagging.

The bottom line is that our research suggests that when compared to other bed brands and types, Serta innserpring mattresses rank toward the bottom.
